So…where to ride on my first “longish” bike ride after the Sunshine 1200k? We got up too late for the Meet Your Maker shindig down in Santa Cruz, so we narrowed it down to two choices: mixed terrain fun near Mt. Vision or one of Santa Rosa Cycling Club’s, “10 Great Rides” — the “Geysers.”
This was my first time riding the Santa Rosa Cycling Club’s Annual Wine Country Century! There’s a variety of routes to choose from, and Ann, Bonnie, Karen (with special piggy guest, “Pudu’s Progeny”, hitching a ride on her handlebars), Jambi, Pudu and I opted for the 200k. I love, love, love riding with the Santa Rosa Cycling Club! The RBA, Bob Redmond, is a total sweetheart and runs really well-supported events — so chances are you’ll have a fantastic time!
It’s another year, and I have another set of goals to aim for as I hope to ride Paris-Brest-Paris in 2015! After dealing with knee/fit issues with my CX and new randonneur bikes for most of last year — I think I finally have all of that sorted out (a blog post detailing that epic saga will come in the near future.)Continue Reading
