Every time TBO and I ride our bikes through the searing summer heat of the Tri-Valley, we swear we’ll not return until the winter months when the average daily temperatures are more bearable (so at least under 80 degrees.) But a picnic at Del Valle Regional Park sounded pretty tempting…
as I’m always eager to check out a new route, I scanned the Grizzly Peak Cyclists’ extensive archive of cue sheets and picked out a themed ride (I’m a sucked for these): the Tour of Five Canyons.
We set out from the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART station for a one-way trip towards the capital.
Our fearless ride leader for today, May Woo, led 13 folks of the Ride-On crew from San Francisco to Tunitas Creek and back to the city today for a total of 90 miles and 7,000ft. of climbing!
Our plan for today was to ride from SF-Pescadero-SF — led by our intrepid friend May Woo — but alas, the rainy weather put a kibosh on our 90-mile journey.
